US Schools Seek Solutions for Transgender Students

When American transgender students return to school after the summer break, some may be more comfortable using a bathroom than they have been. The Obama administration issued guidelines last week advising public schools to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms, locker rooms and sports programs corresponding to their gender identity, rather than their sex at birth. But some states have balked at the directive.
