Officials say the violence happened in the Cite Soleil slum Friday, one day after a Philippine peacekeeper was shot dead in the area.
The slum has been a focal point of violence since September, when gangs loyal to ousted President Jean-Bertrand Aristide began protests demanding his return.
The latest violence happened as a visiting U.N. Security Council delegation met with Haitian officials to discuss elections set for later this year and security concerns in the impoverished Caribbean nation.
The delegation wraps up its four-day trip Saturday.
U.N. peacekeepers and Haiti's interim government have been struggling to contain violence since Mr. Aristide's ouster in February 2004.
