Officials in Aruba say they are at a crucial point in the investigation of what happened to an American teenager who went missing there on May 30.

A spokeswoman for island prosecutors Saturday said five suspects are being held in the investigation of the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway.

She was on a trip with classmates from her Alabama high school to celebrate their graduation, and was last seen at a popular night club. She was seen leaving the club with some young men.

Those detained are the son of a prominent island official, two brothers from Suriname, and two former hotel security guards.
