Interleague action continued Tuesday in major league baseball as the National League's Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cleveland Indians of the American League 9-6.

Philadelphia's Ryan Howard drove in four runs, including a massive home run in the second inning. Phillies' pitcher Kyle Hendrick allowed just three runs and five hits over six innings, in just his second career start.

Meanwhile, the A.L.'s Minnesota Twins routed the slumping New York Mets of the National League in a 9-0 shutout. The Mets only got four hits as it lost for the 12th time in 15 games.

Tuesday's other interleague winners include Detroit, the Los Angeles Dodgers, St. Louis, Boston, Florida, the Chicago Cubs, Colorado, San Diego, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Houston and Arizona.

The A.L.'s Detroit Tigers posted 17 hits in their 15-1 rout of the Washington Nationals. The National League's Los Angeles Dodgers trounced the Toronto Blue Jays 10-1. The N.L.'s St. Louis Cardinals beat the Kansas City Royals 5-1. The A.L.'s Boston Red Sox enjoyed a 4-0 shutout of the Atlanta Braves. The National League's Florida Marlins edged the Chicago White Sox 7-5. The N.L.'s Chicago Cubs edged the Texas Rangers 5-4. The National League's Colorado Rockies downed the New York Yankees 3-1.

The San Diego Padres of the National League outlasted the Baltimore Orioles 12-6. The N.L.'s Cincinnati Reds beat the Oakland Athletics 5-2. The Pittsburgh Pirates of the N.L. downed the Seattle Mariners 5-3. Houston's Carlos Lee drove in four runs, including a homer, as the Astros defeated the A.L.'s Los Angeles Angels 9-5, and the National League's Arizona Diamondbacks rallied from a six-run deficit to shock the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 10-8.
