The Cleveland Indians have defeated the Boston Red Sox, 13-6, in 11 innings, to even Major League Baseball's American League Championship Series at a win apiece.

Former Boston star Trot Nixon broke a 6-6 tie in the top of the 11th inning with a run-scoring single. Franklin Gutierrez capped the seven-run inning with a three-run home run.

Saturday's game lasted five hours and 14 minutes, ending long after midnight in Boston.

The best-of-seven series moves to Cleveland Monday for the first of three games.

The National League Championship series resumes Sunday in Denver, Colorado, where the Rockies hold a two-games-to-none lead over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
