Italian skier Massimiliano Blardone has won a World Cup men's giant slalom race on the Franz Klammer Course in Bad Kleinkirchheim, Austria.

Blardone finished the course with a combined time of 2:10.75 seconds, 0.09 seconds ahead of countryman Manfred Moelgg (2:10.84). American Ted Ligety was third (2:10.92).

Austrian Benjamin Raich was fourth (2:10.95) while Switzerland's Daniel Albrecht finished fifth (2:11.10). Albrecht leads Raich by 12 points in the overall World Cup standings (317-305).
