President Bush has commended Argentine President Nestor Kirchner for the Latin American country's new accord with the IMF.

President Bush talked to his Argentine counterpart by phone from Air Force One, Friday. President Kirchner thanked Mr. Bush and U.S. Treasury Secretary John Snow for their support.

On Wednesday, Argentina struck a long-sought deal with the International Monetary Fund to refinance $21 billion of the country's debt to international lenders.
