The Church of England has decided that the Three Wise Men who visited Jesus after his birth were not necessarily wise, or men.

A meeting of senior church officials in London decided to replace the term "wise men" with "magi," a genderless term, in some of its prayers.

A church spokesman says although it is very unlikely that the Persian court officials who visited the baby Jesus were women, the possibility cannot be ruled out.

Some church members criticized the ruling, saying the Church of England has become obsessed with not offending feminists.
