The elections in Sierra Leone are over. The people have spoken. A new President, Ernest Bai Koroma, has been given a mandate to rule the country whose people are crying out for change. He has promised to tackle corruption which some say is endemic. Sierra Leoneans in the diaspora, including the youth, say they are committed to help rebuild their country and make it a ?sweeter Sierra Leone?.
Alhaji Dr. Alusine Sahid Jah is currently with Maryland?s Prince George?s county public school system. He spoke with nightline?s Akwei Thompson.
Dr. jah said the challenge the new president faces is herculean, however, he is well groomed for the task ahead. ?But knowing him, having met him, having spoken to him with the kind of person that he is, inside and out, I have a feeling he is ready to face that challenge?, he added.
