Cuba's top diplomat in the United States says ailing President Fidel Castro will soon return to power.
Dagoberto Rodriguez told reporters Tuesday that Mr. Castro's health has been improving daily and that he will soon assume his responsibilities again as president.
Castro ceded power to his brother Raul Castro at the end of July after undergoing intestinal surgery.
Since the surgery, Cuban officials have stated frequently that Mr. Castro was doing well as speculation swirled that his condition was worsening.
Earlier this month, Raul Castro said his 80 year old brother was "not dying."
