Former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich of Germany has won the closing time trial and the overall title at the Tour of Switzerland cycling race.

Ullrich was in third place overall before completing Sunday's rain soaked 30.7 - kilometer time trial from Kerzers to Bern in 38:45. Australia's Cadel Evans was second in the stage, 23 seconds behind, while Angel Vicioso of Spain took third place, 31 seconds back.

Koldo Gil Perez, who came into the final time trial wearing the leader's yellow jersey, finished 1:14 back in ninth place. That allowed Ullrich to win the race for the second time after also taking the title in 2004.

Gil finished second overall, 24 seconds behind Ullrich, while Germany's Jorg Jaksche took third place.
