The Czech Republic has expelled a Cuban diplomat, in the latest move in a diplomatic spat between Havana and Prague.

The Czech Republic refused to renew the visa of Cuban attaché Manuel Angel Baltar Charnicharo. A Czech Foreign Ministry spokesman is quoted as saying the diplomat left the country Wednesday.

Last week, Cuba accused a Czech diplomat in Havana, Stanislav Kazecky, of secretly working for the U.S. government and giving money and other support to Cuban dissidents.

The Czech Foreign Ministry said Cuba is reacting to Czech foreign policy, which supports Cuban dissidents and criticizes human rights abuses.
