Macedonian and ethnic Albanian political leaders signed a peace agreement last week, and NATO is poised to send 3,500 troops to Macedonia.

An initial British rapid-reaction force has already arrived to establish a command and control center to help monitor the cease-fire between the Macedonian government forces and ethnic Albanian separatists. But, according to many political analysts, the possibility of a civil war in Macedonia remains high.
