The family of a young Brazilian man who was shot and killed by police who mistook him for a terrorist arrived in London Tuesday demanding justice for their son.

Jean Charles de Menezes was gunned down on July 22 on a train in the London Underground, a day after four suspects failed to carry out suicide bombings on the Underground and a bus. He was shot repeatedly at point blank range in the head.

Police initially said the 27-year-old electrician was acting suspiciously and ignored orders to stop running. But details later emerged through news reports that disputed those claims.

On Wednesday, the family will visit the station in south London where Mr. de Menezes was killed, followed by a meeting with the independent panel investigating the shooting on Thursday.
