Gunmen have attacked a bus in northern Honduras, killing at least 23 people and wounding more than 10 others.
Honduran police say the shooting occurred Thursday in the northern Atlantic city of Chamelecon, some 200 kilometers north of the capital, Tegucigalpa.
Police say the unknown assailants forced the bus off the road and opened fire with assault rifles.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear, though the gunmen left a message at the scene challenging politicians who have taken a hard stance against organized crime.
