Philippine authorities say a human rights activist has been killed in the northern Philippines.

Officials say Albert Terredano was shot Tuesday by an unidentified man riding a motorcycle near the town of Bangued.

Mr. Terradano was a member of the Cordillera Indigenous People's Legal Center and the president of the Department of Agrarian Reform employees' union.

This is the second killing of a left-wing activist in as many days in the northern Philippines. Tuesday, Jose "Pepe" Manegdeg was shot to death. He was a leader in the Bayan Muna political party. Party members say seven of their ranks have been killed by unidentified gunmen in the past month.
