Oman has deported more than 1,300 Pakistanis for immigration violations.

Pakistani officials say 723 deportees arrived in the southern port city of Karachi Thursday, and some 600 others returned on Wednesday.

Oman conducts regular operations to detain and deport illegal immigrants.

Hundreds of Pakistanis travel to Middle Eastern countries in search of jobs. They often pay large sums of money to so-called "travel agents" to help them get there without documents.
