The National Basketball Association's San Antonio Spurs have reached a contract agreement with a center they hope will replace retired All-Star David Robinson.

Slovenian free-agent Rasho Nesterovic agreed to a six-year, $42 million contract.

His agent says Nesterovic made his decision to join the defending NBA champion Spurs late Monday night.

Teams can officially begin signing players Wednesday.

Nesterovic spent his first five NBA seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Last year, he had career highs with 11 points and seven rebounds a game.
