Nigeria has re-opened its border with neighboring Benin. The border was sealed off last Sunday because of alleged criminal activity crossing from the Nigerian side of the border into Benin. The re-opening followed a meeting between the presidents of the two countries held in the Nigerian border town of Badagry. Benin's President Mattieu Kerekou pleaded with Nigerian President Obasanjo to open the border, promising prompt action on Nigeria's complaints about cross-border crimes.
