Former Guatemala City Mayor Oscar Berger is celebrating victory in Guatemala's presidential elections, but official results are still a way off.

After a day of high turnout and long lines at voting centers across Guatemala, the electoral tribunal continues to compute elections results for presidential, congressional and mayoral races. But that has not stopped presidential candidate Oscar Berger from celebrating.

In a packed salon of a Guatemala City hotel, many floors above the electoral tribunal's counting center, Berger thanked his supporters, telling the crowd that they had made their presence known at the polls.

Officials in the Berger camp say they do not think the former mayor won more then 50 percent of the vote and expects he will face off with the second-place vote winner in a December runoff. Official results are expected later Monday.
