Pakistan's cricket team has beaten the West Indies by 40 runs in the second one-day international in Saint Lucia and clinched its best-of-three series.

Shoaib Malik and captain Inzamam-ul-Haq each scored 51 runs Saturday to lead Pakistan to 258 for eight from its 50 overs at Beausejour Stadium.

Pakistan then dismissed the West Indies for 218 with 10 balls to spare to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series. Runako Morton was the leading scorer for the hosts with a tally of 55 runs. The final match is scheduled for Sunday.

It was the eighth straight loss for the West Indies, a streak that included being shut out 5-0 in a series against South Africa.
