Sreten Lukic

Serbian war crimes suspect General Sreten Lukic has pleaded not guilty to four counts of crimes against humanity.

Appearing before the U.N. war crimes tribunal at The Hague Wednesday, General Lukic rejected the charges filed against him in 2003.

He is one of four Serbian generals indicted for the murder and forced deportation of Albanians from Kosovo in the late 1990's.

One of the others indicted by the tribunal, General Nebojsa Pavkovic, pleaded not guilty to the same charges last week.

Another, General Vladimir Lazarevic, was ordered released by the court in April, pending trial.

The fourth suspect, General Vlastimir Djordjevic, has not been found, but is believed to be hiding in Russia.
