Russian Nikolay Davydenko has reached the semifinals of the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York with a 4-6, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 victory over German Tommy Haas.

The seventh-seeded Davydenko will play the winner of a match between top seed and world number one Roger Federer of Switzerland and American James Blake. That marquee match will be on Arthur Ashe court. The two players have met four times before with Federer winning all the matches.

The other men's semifinal has American Andy Roddick taking on Russian Mikhail Youzhny for a place in the final on Sunday.
