French Open tennis champion Anastasia Myskina has been eliminated from the quarterfinals of the Advanta Tennis Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Myskina, the second seed, lost in three sets to seventh-seeded countrywoman Nadia Petrova, 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. Petrova next takes on countrywoman Vera Zvonareva, a straight-set winner over former Australian and French Open winner Jennifer Capriati of the United States (6-0, 6-1).

The other quarterfinal has Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova of Russia taking on Olympic bronze medalist Alicia Molik of Australia. Later, top seed Amelie Mauresmo of France faces Venus Williams in the quarterfinals.
