In Pakistan, some 10,000 mourners have gathered in Karachi for the funeral services of one of two prominent Sunni Muslim clerics killed Saturday.

No major incidents were reported Sunday but police fired tear gas to disperse angry Sunni Muslims throwing rocks.

Karachi's police chief said security in the volatile southern port city was increased outside mosques and around an Islamic seminary ahead of the funeral.

The clerics, Mufti Jamil and Nazir Taunsvi, were traveling in a car when gunmen attacked. The shootings triggered riots by their supporters.

Pakistani authorities have arrested dozens of members of outlawed Sunni and Shi'ite militant groups in several cities in Punjab province.
