World No. 1 men's golfer Tiger Woods of the United States remains atop the leader board after the second round of the Dubai Desert Classic tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
Woods struggled with the rest of the field in windy, rainy conditions and had three bogeys and four birdies in his 1-under-par round of 71. The world number one is now 8-under-par (136) for the tournament.
Ireland's Damien McGrane fired a 3-under-par 69 in his second round and is in second place at 7-under-par (137). Defending champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden is tied with Thomas Levet of France for third place at 6-under-par (138). Stenson fired a 2-under-par 70 Friday while Levet had a 1-under-par 71.
Spain's Sergio Garcia and Peter Hedblom of Sweden are part of a large group of players tied for fourth place at 5-under-par (139). The weather is expected to clear for Saturday's third round, with sunshine and temperatures around 16 degrees (Celsius).
