The West Indies' Cricket team has taken a commanding lead over visiting Pakistan after the second day of the opening test match at Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Fidel Edwards took five wickets for only 38 runs as the West Indies knocked Pakistan out for only 144 in its first innings. Captain Younis Khan was the top scorer for the visitors, with only 31 runs before being caught out.

The Pakistani batsmen could not answer Edwards's attack with Salman Butt adding only 27 runs in Pakistan's first innings.

The West Indies had scored 345 in its first innings and added another 168 for four by the close of play Friday. Chris Gayle scored 50 runs and Brian Lara added another 48 in the hosts' second innings.

This is the first of two tests in Pakistan's tour of the West Indies. The second test starts June 3rd in Jamaica. Pakistan won the three one-day internationals of this tour earlier this month.
