Dozens of people are missing or feared dead after a pedestrian bridge collapsed into a river in northeast India.

Authorities say at least 29 people were rescued after the footbridge collapsed Saturday over the Kemeng river in Arunachal Pradesh State.

At least two bodies have been recovered, while dozens more remain missing.

Police and paramilitary soldiers are continuing efforts to locate the dead and missing.
