Police in Afghanistan say a regional director of the Independent Election Commission narrowly escaped a suicide attack in eastern Kabul Saturday. Police say Abdul Rahman Rodwal's driver was killed and several people nearby were wounded in the Afghan capital, Kabul. So far, no one has claimed responsibility. But the Taliban, which strives to overturn the government, is known for similar attacks.
