Elmo and Friends Lead Education Effort for Refugee Children

In countries like Lebanon and Jordan, finding classrooms for hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugee children is no easy task. In response, the International Rescue Committee and Sesame Workshop — the nonprofit behind the children's program Sesame Street — have set out to bring education directly to them, and the two groups are semifinalists for a $100-million grant that would help facilitate that effort.
