Prospects for a new round of Mideast talks are off to a bad start, with Israel rejecting any indirect peace attempts. France is hosting an international ministerial meeting on May 30 in an effort to revive the peace talks last held in 2014 at U.S. initiative. French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault visited Israeli and Palestinian leaders on Sunday, as his country prepares to host an international peace meeting aimed at finding ways to revive the talks.
