United States officials are braced for Iran to respond to the killing of its most powerful general. They've warned ships across Mideast waterways crucial to global energy supplies about the “possibility of Iranian action" against them. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that any action the United States takes against Iran would be within the guidelines set by International Law.  Eric Brewer, the Deputy Director and Fellow for the Project on Nuclear Issues and International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, discusses the ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran.

Plus, Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Monday, the United States has no plans to pull its troops out of Iraq, following reports by Reuters and other media of an American military letter informing Iraqi officials about repositioning troops in preparation for leaving the country. VOA Pentagon Correspondent Carla Babb joins the program with the latest.
