A group of astronomers have confirmed the first Earth-sized exoplanet to be discovered by NASA's new Transiting Exoplanets Survey Satellite or TESS. The band of astronomers also confirmed TESS' discovery of a mini Neptune-like planet. Both planets orbit a sun-like star 53 light-years away in the constellation, Reticulum. TESS is the successor to the recently decommissioned Kepler space telescope.
