A popular scientific concept suggests Earth's supply of H20 was delivered by a heavy bombardment of asteroids and comets in its history. But, geoscientists at Arizona State University have developed a new theory on the origin of Earth's water. The ASU researchers suggest that there was an abundant supply of hydrogen left over from the solar system's formation and that the gas, (the H in H20), combined with Earth's rocky materials to produce our planet's water supply.
