Scientists recently studied and analyzed ancient cave paintings at sites in Turkey, Spain, France and Germany. The scientists say their research indicated that the cave art was more than just primitive renderings of humans and animals, but suggests people from as long as 40,000 years ago had a comparatively advance knowledge of astronomy. The animals in the paintings are said to be symbolic representations of various star constellations.
