The Obama administration is pressing ahead with plans to increase the number of refugees it will allow in the U.S. over the next year to 110,000 — a 30 percent increase over this year. The increase raises the stakes in what has become a national debate over immigration and security centering on Syrian refugees. Jeff Swicord recently met a newly arrived Syrian family in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
