Iyinoluwa Aboyeji moved to Canada for high school. Accepted into Y Combinator in August 2016, his second venture, Flutterwave, is a digital payments infrastructure. Clients, both large global companies and local merchants, are able to accept and process payments via cards, bank accounts and mobile money wallets instantly. Flutterwave’s API simplifies ‘the convoluted world of payments in Africa’ by facilitating the smooth exchange of funds in 150+ currencies.

Bukola Akinfaderin is a Senior Software Engineer at Ancestry. She developed an app called Jandus Radio while living in Yabacon Valley, a suburb of Lagos and the heart of the tech scene in Nigeria. Although Jandus Radio was forced to shut down in 2015, Bukola continues to forge ahead – balancing her 9 to 5 job in San Francisco with her talent for building apps that connect people across the African diaspora.

Yonas Beshawred an Ethiopian-American from Maryland, is the Founder/CEO of StackShare. StackShare is an online community of over 100,000 engineers, chief technology officers, and vice presidents of engineering from some of the world’s top startups, including Airbnb, Dropbox, Medium and Spotify.

Chris Folayan a Nigerian born serial entrepreneur, is the Founder/CEO of MallforAfrica. MallforAfrica is the largest online shopping platform in Africa, with over 8.5 billion items for sale at over 150 US and UK stores.


Sid Mofya originally from Zambia, is the Director of Partnerships at the Draper Venture Network. After working in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, he completed a Kauffman Fellowship with the Draper Venture Network, bringing together investors and entrepreneurs from across the globe. Sid joined the team, in part, to help expand the Network’s reach in Africa and currently advises firms and companies across the continent.

Stephen Ozoigbo is CEO of The African Technology Foundation. The African Technology Foundation provides African entrepreneurs with the knowledge, resources and global partnerships they need to develop their ideas and expand the practice of digital entrepreneurship in Africa.

Mbwana Alliy is the Founder/Managing Partner of the Savannah Fund. The Savannah Fund is a seed capital fund focused on investing in early stage technology startups throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.

Anthony Okoro is the Associate Director of the Global Innovation Team at Ernst & Young. After graduating college in Nigeria, Anthony founded a mobile phone sales company that grew to 40 employees at its peak. He moved to the States to pursue his MBA after selling his company.
