The U.S. Congress has approved spending bill and two year budget agreement which has been signed by President Donald Trump, ending a brief government shutdown. The deal ended weeks of uncertainty as well as Democratic hopes of linking passage of the budget with a solution for 1.8 million undocumented immigrants brought to the U.S. as children. The latest Quinnipiac University public opinion poll has President Donald Trump's approval rating at 40 percent, his best showing in seven months. He is likely benefiting from a strong U.S. economy, but analysts say Trump is courting political risk by continuing to criticize Democrats and the ongoing investigation into possible collusion between Russia and his presidential campaign.
