World Press Freedom Day is this Thursday [May 3rd], and rights groups are warning of a deterioration of press freedom in East Africa. While countries like Eritrea and Sudan are almost always near the bottom of the global rankings on the subject, activists say the past few years have seen a troubling downturn throughout this part of the continent, including in countries like Kenya and Tanzania.
