At Least 5 Iraqis Killed In Militant Attacks

Security officials say a string of militant attacks has killed at least five Iraqis and injured several others.

In eastern Baghdad, officials say two civilians were killed and at least four others wounded in a car bomb attack near a joint U.S.-Iraqi military patrol.

Two other people were reported killed in separate attacks in Baghdad while in the northern city of Mosul scattered violence killed one person and wounded several others.

U.S. military officials say an American soldier was killed Saturday in the town of Khaladiyah. The military also announced the deaths of four other U.S. soldiers Thursday in the northern town of Tall Afar.

On Friday, a string of car bombings in and around Baghdad killed at least 30 people and wounded dozens more. U.S. military officials say Iraqi civilians and police were the targets.
