German Neo-Nazis on Trial on Bomb Plot Charges

update

The leader of a German neo-Nazi group and three followers have gone on trial in Munich on charges they planned to explode a bomb at the dedication of a Jewish cultural center.

Prosecutors say the attack, planned for November of last year, was part of a plot by 28-year-old Martin Wiese and his alleged accomplices to bring down Germany's democratic government and install a Nazi dictatorship.

The defendants have denied the charges.

Five other people alleged to be involved with the group went on trial in October.

German police seized more than 15 kilograms of explosive materials during raids last year.

The dedication, attended by then-German president Johannes Rau and other leading officials, came on the anniversary of "Kristallnacht," a 1938 Nazi rampage against synagogues and Jewish-owned businesses.
