Storms Batter Western US

Parts of the western United States have received near-record rainfall from a winter storm blamed for at least five deaths in California.

The city of Los Angeles alone received more than 14 centimeters of rain Wednesday, one of the wettest days in the city's history.

Authorities in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and other locations report bad road conditions and a higher-than-normal number of vehicle crashes.

In Sedona, Arizona, authorities are looking for two men whose canoe capsized in an overflowing creek Wednesday.

Forecasters say the states of California, Nevada and Arizona can expect continued heavy rain for the next several days.
