One of Hollywood's most glamorous couples, Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, have split up after four and a half years of marriage.
Pitt and Aniston announced their breakup Friday, saying they are formally separated, but intend to remain friends.
Pitt is one of the U.S. movie industry's biggest stars. His recent roles include leading parts in the comedy heist film Ocean's 12 and the Greek epic Troy.
Aniston was perhaps the best known cast member of the 10-year television hit comedy, Friends. She also has had roles in several films.
Pitt and Aniston married in a lavish ceremony in Malibu, California, in July 2000.
