Three Journalists Flee Zimbabwe

update

In Zimabwe, authorities are cracking down on journalists working for foreign papers ahead of the March 31 elections. This week, three journalists - all born in Zimbabwe - fled the country. They are: Angus Shaw of The Associated Press, Brian Latham of the Bloomberg Financial News, and Jaan Raath of The Times of London. A fourth -- freelance reporter Cornelius Nduma -- has gone into hiding. Officials from Zimbabwe's Central Intelligence Organization raided the office they shared -- and accused them of engaging in illegal activities. The men deny the charge, but said they did not want to spend time in prison with little legal recourse.

Voice of America reporter Ndimyake Mwakalyelye talked to reporter Brian Latham, a journalist for over 12 years, and asked him why he and his colleagues fled Zimbabwe.
