The victim of a notorious gang-rape in Pakistan says she wants to see her attackers hanged.
Thirty-three-year-old Mukhtaran Mai made the remark Thursday two days after four of the six men convicted of the crime were released on bail until a final Supreme Court ruling on the case.
Ms. Mai said she is scared for her life now that the four are free, and according to Reuters news agency asked President Pervez Musharraf to intervene.
The rape, ordered by a village council nearly three years ago as a punishment for an alleged affair between her younger brother and a girl from a powerful clan, provoked an outcry in Pakistan.
On Monday, the Supreme Court in Islamabad suspended all previous rulings in the case and said it would hear the case itself.
