Minnesota School Shooting Spree Leaves 10 Dead

update

A student has gone on a shooting spree in the U.S. state of Minnesota, killing 10 people and wounding at least a dozen others.

FBI officials said Monday four students, including a young male believed to be the gunman, were shot dead at a high school in northern Minnesota. A security guard and a teacher were also killed. Two others later died of their wounds.

Local hospital officials say several of the wounded have been brought in for treatment.

The shooting occurred at a school on an American Indian reservation. Red Lake High School has more than 300 students, all of them American Indians.

The FBI also suspects the shooter of responsibility for two other shootings in a nearby home. Local officials say the two were the gunman's grandparents.
