CSKA Moscow will have the chance to become the first Russian football (soccer) club to win a European title when it faces Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Cup final.
Daniel Carvalho scored two goals Thursday to lead Moscow over visiting Italian club Parma, 3-0, in the second-leg semifinal. The two teams were scoreless in the first game.
CSKA is only the second Russian club to reach a European final. Dynamo Moscow lost to Rangers in the 1972 Cup Winners' Cup final.
In the Netherlands, Alkmaar beat Sporting Lisbon, 3-2, in extra time to end with a 4-4 aggregate. But the visiting Portuguese advanced on away goals. Lisbon will seek its first UEFA Cup title at home on May 18th at Jose Alvalade Stadium.
