Spurs One Win Away from NBA Title

The San Antonio Spurs are one win away from clinching the National Basketball Association championship after edging the defending champion Detroit Pistons 96-95 in overtime.

Sunday's victory in Detroit gives San Antonio a three-games-to-two lead in the best-of-seven series, following two lopsided defeats to the Pistons.

The Spurs are looking for their third NBA championship in seven seasons.

San Antonio veteran Robert Horry hit the game-winning, three-point shot with six seconds left in the five-minute extra session. He also scored a driving dunk earlier in overtime.

Teammate Tim Duncan tied the score (89-89) with 33 seconds to go in regulation time. He lead the Spurs with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Horry added 21 points after going scoreless in the first half.

Detroit's Chauncey Billups led all scorers with 34 points.

The remainder of the series will be played in San Antonio. Game Six is Tuesday. If necessary, Game Seven will be Thursday.
