Venus Williams, Myskina Face Off in Fed Cup

One week after winning the women's title at Wimbledon, American tennis star Venus Williams steps on the court to represent the United States in the Fed Cup semifinals against defending champion Russia.

Williams was drawn to play the first singles match Saturday on a temporary clay court in Moscow's Olympic stadium against 2004 French Open champion Anastasia Myskina.

That will be followed by a match between Russian Elena Dementieva and American Mashona Washington.

Washington is the replacement for world No.1 Lindsay Davenport, who injured her back when she lost to Venus in the Wimbledon final last Saturday.

The best-of-five match Fed Cup semifinal will conclude Sunday with a doubles match. Russians Vera Douchevina and Dinara Safina are scheduled to play Venus Williams and Corina Morariu. The other Fed Cup semifinal features Spain at France.
