England 92-7 Australia 190 All Out on Ashes' First Day

England's cricket team has scored 92 for seven in response to Australia's first innings score of 190 all out on the first day of the first Ashes test at Lord's in London.

Australia won the toss and elected to bat first, but the world champions struggled to counter fast bowler Steve Harmison. The English bowler took five wickets while allowing only 43 runs.

Justin Langer was the top scorer for the Aussies, managing only 40 runs before being caught out.

However, Glenn McGrath of Australia hit back, taking five wickets and passing the 500-test wickets mark during England's first innings.

McGrath finished with 5-21 while Brett Lee was 2-34. Geraint Jones was the top scorer for England with 30 runs while test debutante Kevin Pietersen scored 28 not out.

Australia has won the five-match series the past eight times it has taken on England, dating back to 1989.
